What does a Chiropractor do?
I've been struggling with back pain for years, but thanks to the combination of chiropractic and massage, I finally found relief. The caring approach and precise adjustments have made a world of difference in my life and my golf game has improved dramatically. I can't thank the team at Connected enough!
I can't thank this clinic enough for helping me manage pelvic discomfort during my pregnancy. Katie's expertise and genuine care brought so much relief. The online classes for pregnancy really helped too. I plan on coming back for post natal adjustments and getting baby checked over too!
Chiropractic Care
Is it right for you?
Chiropractic is a healthcare profession that focuses on diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, with special emphasis on the spine. It emphasises manual therapy including spinal, joint and soft-tissue manipulation and can include exercises and health & lifestyle counselling.
Pre & Post Natal Care
We are here to support your journey
A woman’s body changes during pregnancy in the most incredible way. That can lead to changes in pressure on joints in various parts of the body, including the spine and pelvis.
Chiropractic may help your body adapt to these stresses and strains during pregnancy and after birth.
We will only use safe and gentle techniques that are suited to your body, your condition and your stage.
Baby & Infant Care
Supporting your families health from an early age
Chiropractic care is suitable for your whole family & we will adapt our care to your tiny newborn or your super active toddler.
Adjustments are safe and intended to support their age & stage of development.
It's never too early or too late to use chiropractic care!
Massage Therapy
Find out how could our therapists help you
Whether you’re an everyday athlete or a weekend gym-goer, massage therapy can be beneficial for flexibility, recovery or correcting muscular imbalance and posture issues. Regular massage that targets specific areas of the body is an excellent way to achieve this.
Massage can also be beneficial in helping manage chronic muscular and long-term conditions such as arthritis and repetitive strain injuries.

How qualified is my Chiropractor?Every person that calls themselves a chiropractor in the UK must be on a Government Register (with the general Chiropractic Council – GCC). In other words, as the Profession has statutory Regulation, each Chiropractor in the UK will have undergone a minimum amount of training and will have a recognized qualification. Usually Chiropractors train for four to five years, with three or four years intensive pre-clinical education, followed by a clinical year. Once fully qualified, Chiropractors are required to undergo Continual Professional Development by attending courses to keep ahead of the latest techniques and protocols. Without this, they cannot stay on the Government Register.
-
What is an adjustment or joint manipulation?Treatment consists of gentle manipulative techniques, known as adjustments, to restore correct function and mobility to the joints. After years of training and clinical experience, each chiropractic doctor becomes highly skilled in the delivery of a variety of adjusting approaches. There are many ways to adjust the spine. Usually the doctors hands or a specially designed instrument (activator) delivers a brief and highly accurate thrust. Some adjusting methods are quick, whereas others require a slow and constant pressure.
-
Will treatment hurt and is it safe?Generally, a chiropractic adjustment does not hurt – although there may be some minor discomfort which quickly passes. You will normally find that follow-up treatments are much more pleasant, as your symptoms improve and many people experience a feeling of general well-being after an adjustment. Chiropractic has an excellent safety record. It is the result of a conservative approach to health that avoids invasive procedures or addictive drugs. Chiropractic is very safe when a qualified practitioner carries out treatment. Your chiropractor is trained to recognise conditions which require referral elsewhere. Massage therapy is tailored to your tolerance. You may experience discomfort following the massage. This can be completely normal and should it occur please speak to your massage therapist.
